Technical skills & attributes required:

Qualifications   

  • Relevant networking, infrastructure and Microsoft certifications and qualifications (such as MCSA, Cisco CCNA, JNCP, MCSA, VCP)

 

Skills

  • 5 + years of experience in IT infrastructure engineering for Microsoft 365/Azure – Managing Microsoft Azure & Office 365 including Conditional Access, Azure AD Connect, Exchange Online/Hybrid, SharePoint, Teams, Intune/Endpoint Manage
  • Extensive knowledge and hands-on experience of Cloud solutions, migration and cloud backups solutions – experience with public and private cloud such as Azure and AWS
  • Experience of virtualisation; maintaining and updating VMware vSphere and Hyper-V environments, including replication and failover
  • Experience supporting 8×8, Teams voice, VOIP systems
  • Security – Experience with MDM, MFA, InTune, Conditional Access, Email Filtering, Next Generation firewalls and antivirus solutions.
  • Windows Server 2016/2019/2022 & Active Directory- Installation and configuration
  • Storage – Maintaining, updating, troubleshooting SAN devices; configuring iSCSI connectivity; managing and troubleshooting clusters
  • Remote Desktop Services – Experience supporting and troubleshooting RDS, RemoteApp and Citrix environments (on-prem and cloud)
  • Network troubleshooting at 3rd line; Configure, support and maintain WAN and LAN networking, Routers and Firewalls
  • Endpoint Support – Experience with Windows desktop, application, tablet and mobile device support
  • Configure, support and maintain Juniper firewalls, hardware support (PC, Servers and printers)
  • Configure, support and maintain VPN solutions and knowledge of virtual desktop/server technologies including VMware, Hyper V & Citrix
  • Soft Skills – Effective communication; methodical approach to diagnosis and documentation; independent research; organisation and prioritisation;
  • MSP experience servicing multiple clients and technologies
  • Good communication, telephone and client facing skills
  • Personable, service driven, with a sense of humour
  • Willing to work and continually acquire knowledge necessary to perform tasks and projects
  • full clean UK driving license

We’re now looking for a Senior Infrastructure Engineer to join our growing team to service our expanding client base. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Design, implementation and management of Microsoft based infrastructure projects and solutions including Microsoft 365, Active Directory, Exchange, Teams, SharePoint and Azure cloud services
  • Plan and technically deliver migrations from on-prem to cloud services ensuring minimal downtime and disruptions to business operations
  • Monitor, maintain, and optimise existing IT infrastructure, ensuring high availability, performance, and security of systems.
  • Create and handover comprehensive documentation of infrastructure configurations, processes, and procedures for implemented projects to the service management team. Ensure compliance with industry standards and best practices.
  • Provide advanced troubleshooting and 3rd line support for infrastructure-related issues, collaborating with the RMT Technology service desk team as needed.
  • Mentor and provide technical guidance to less experience engineers
  • Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies and industry trends, recommending improvements and innovations to our infrastructure.
